The Cevizlik Hydroelectric Project: Generating Clean Energy in Turkey The Cevizlik Hydroelectric Project is a newly constructed 93 MW run-of-river hydroelectric power plant located in the Iyidere river basin of Turkey's Eastern Blacksea Region. The project was designed to generate electricity by utilizing the 230 m of head between the tailwater level of the upstream existing Ikizdere HEPP and the Kalkandere HEPP project. What sets this project apart from others in Turkey is that it is constructed underground without any upstream reservoir lake.
