Project Name

5MW Biomass Based Cogeneration Project At Sainsons

Description

SPIL Cogeneration Power Project SPIL has implemented a 5 MW cogeneration power project in India that utilizes rice husk to generate power. The power is produced by a 5 MW extraction-cum-condensing steam turbine with alternator. The major equipment of the power project comprises a 50 tonne per hour (TPH) capacity single drum travel grate type boiler, which allows for the production of process steam required in the paper machine section. Key Highlights: - The cogeneration power project generates 5 MW of power using rice husk, a sustainable and renewable resource. - The project helps to reduce GHG emissions from electricity generation, which would otherwise be generated by coal-based power plants. - The use of the 5 MW extraction-cum-condensing steam turbine with alternator allows for the efficient production of process steam required in the paper machine section. - The project reduces reliance on the grid for power and provides a sustainable source of energy for the paper mill. - The project contributes to India's goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 33-35% by 2030 as part of the Paris Agreement. By utilizing rice husk to generate power, the SPIL Cogeneration Power Project helps to reduce coal consumption in India's electricity generation dominated by coal-based power plants. The project's GHG emission reductions contribute to India's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions as part of the Paris Agreement. Additionally, the project reduces the reliance on grid power and provides a sustainable source of energy for the paper mill, making it an important step towards a sustainable future.
